His deep knowledge of the Italian native wine varieties and of their terroir make him a respected authority in the oenological world.
At the end of the year a precious and important recognition arrives to Monte delle Vigne by Ian D’Agata: the insertion of our Malvasia DOC Colli di Parma Callas 2021 in the section of “his” Great Italian Wines 2022 with the extraordinary mark of 93 points on 100.
“Lorenzo Numanti, the Chief Executive Officer, declared that “even if this special wine is realized since more than 23 years (the first harvest was in 1999, ed.) , in Monte delle Vigne we always feel obliged to improve, to get better day by day, to obtain the best from a vineyard – the Aromatic Malvasia of Candia – of which we have the honour and privilege to represent in its chosen area. But when we receive these recognitions, it is fitting to stop one moment and say THANK YOU not just to Ian, but to the entire Monte delle Vigne team, wisely guided by Andrea Bonini (agronomist)and Marco Cotti (supervisorof the winery)."
Note:
Ian D’Agata had already lauded Monte delle Vigne in the past for its attention to the detail and for the quality of our wines. He described I Calanchi as
“The fruitiest and creamiest Lambrusco, the most engaging, the most complex and the deepest one.”
At the end, D’Agata underlined the capacity of the winery to produce native grapes which faithfully reflects the terroir of the DOC Colli Di Parma area.
