The Slow Wine 2025 wine fair, held in Bologna, proved to be an important showcase for Italian winemaking excellence, and this year Monte delle Vigne captured the attention of both enthusiasts and industry professionals with the presentation of the new Nabucco, vintage 2021, our latest label converted to organic farming. An event that celebrated not only the wine itself, but also the philosophy of sustainability and respect for the land that defines our historic Emilia-Romagna winery.
The new Nabucco is the result of careful grape processing, sourced from the highest (350 meters above sea level) and oldest vineyards (dating back to 1963), cultivated according to organic farming principles. The decision to embrace sustainable practices is reflected not only in respect for the environment, but also in the quality of the final product. During the presentation, the Monte delle Vigne team outlined the winemaking process, highlighting the importance of minimal intervention in the cellar in order to preserve the authenticity of the grapes and the terroir, while keeping sulphite levels under control.
With fruity notes of ripe cherry and plum, accompanied by spicy nuances and an elegant finish, the “newly organic” Nabucco stands out for its complexity and depth, perfectly expressing the character of the limestone–clay soils of the Parma Hills.
“The presentation of the new organic Nabucco was also an opportunity to discuss Monte delle Vigne’s commitment to sustainability. The use of organic farming practices is not a commercial choice, but a true mission aimed at preserving biodiversity and reducing environmental impact,” said Lorenzo Numanti directly from the fair’s stand.
Visitors to the stand had the opportunity to taste not only Nabucco 2021, but the entire Monte delle Vigne selection: from sparkling wines like Rubina, Primavera, RioValli, and Poggio Alto, to still “business” wines such as the brand-new Brusata ’23 and our classic Ginestra. The result was a mix of extraordinary appreciation from those already familiar with our products—including numerous guests from Parma, Modena, Bologna, and Bergamo—and a delightful discovery for first-time tasters, especially visitors from abroad.
The Slow Wine fair once again proved to be an ideal stage for showcasing the stories and passions behind every bottle. With organic Nabucco, Monte delle Vigne not only offers a unique wine, but also invites consumers to reflect on the important of sustainable choices in the world of wine.
A heartfelt thanks to all the agents, business clients, and wine enthusiasts who attended.
