Thanks to the initiative of the “Wine Woman” Silvia Mandini, Monte delle Vigne was one of the wineries present at “Wine in the Courtyard”, a spring event dedicated to food and wine, good music and craftsmanship. The event took place in the charming setting of Cadeo Castle, in the province of Piacenza. It provided a unique opportunity to taste wines from the best local cellars and discover high-quality artisan products crafted by local madames and master artisans.
The philosophy of Monte delle Vigne - to produce expressive wines that reflect the origin territory, using only grapes from their own vineyards - harmonizes well with that of the local producers in the courtyard of the medieval castle of Cadeo. This castle holds significance on the Via Emilia, serving as a stop on the “Francigena” route between Piacenza and Fidenza, much like our estate on the Hills of Parma, which is touched by the path once traveled by pilgrims journeying from Canterbury to Rome.
Monte delle Vigne’s presence at “Wine in the courtyard”, during these wonderful two spring days, was a special moment to taste the winery’s wines and discover its product range. In particular, the Sogni 2015, a pure Petit Manseng, amazed with its brightness, acidity and vigor, even after 8 years since the harvest.
Certainly, during the event, it was possible to meet Silvia Mandini - the true promoter of the winery, not only in Val d’Arda - and ask her for information about wine production and technical aspects of vineyard cultivation. In summary, Monte delle Vigne’s participation in “Wine in the Courtyard” was an unmissable opportunity to discover its oenological “treasures” (some might call them “deposits”) and appreciate the quality and authenticity of our wines.
Finally, a pairing that would leave you regretful for not having attended? Freshly picked cherries paired with a sip of RioValli!
