WINE OFF: A DELICATESSEN TRIUMPH AT MONTE DELLE VIGNE

The 30th of September Monte delle Vigne hosted the event Wine Off between the evocative Parma Hills. The initiative celebrated the authentic eno-gastronomic excellences between a sensitive trip between wines, prestigious food and selected products. Organized by Villani Rappresentanze in collaboration with Francesco Bonomi and Fabio Gobbi, the event attracted eno-gastronomy lovers and professionals of this sector, by creating a warm and discovering atmosphere.

After a passage to our shop with Cecilia Ferrari for the registration and opportunity to visit the winery and barricaia, the hosts went to the masterclasses managed by the two wine influencers. Francesco Bonomi commented: “We accepted with pleasure the invite to present Monte delle Vigne wines through a new method, with two mystery wines, by giving our critic view to a very good Emilian reality”. Helped by Gabriele and Clara of Monte delle Vigne team, the two sommeliers from Brescia and Padova enchanted the public with a tasting of 6 wines: Primavera, Rubina, Riovalli , I Calanchi, Callas and Nabucco.

During the event the guests, at the Antico Casale delle Vigne, could taste a selection of high-quality products, symbol of the tradition and of the innovative Italian gastronomy. Between the specialties, the Acquerello rice, known for its artisan working and for its high quality, which got the attention from all the guests: this rice, perfect for gourmet dishes, became a real ambassador of the Italian cuisine. The same success has been created by the Mosaico salmon, a very prestigious product that delighted the palates with its freshness and unique flavour. Near these products, the Villa Parmesan Cheese that remembered everyone the importance of this cheese, symbol of the Emilian gastronomy. Its seasoning and quality are unmatchable. To conclude the tastings, the Cedrata Tassoni offered freshness and sweetness, while the seasoned cheese from Ferdy Wild astonished for their variety and complexity. Surgiva water guaranteed a refreshing break, the perfect pairing with the tasted courses.

The wines were the main characters of the event, from Monte delle Vigne but also from Compagnia del Vino, which presented a selection of labels coming from different regions, each one capable to tell a story and to express the peculiarity of each land: the guests had the opportunity to enjoy a tasting tour so different, meeting the characteristics and the organoleptic notes of each label.

Mauro Villani, deus ex machina of the event, commented: “Wine off wasn’t just a tasting event, but also a moment of meeting and interaction between producers, lovers and professionals. The beauty of Parma Hills and the hospitality of Monte delle Vigne winery were the frame for this unforgettable event, celebrating the art of making wine and of the Italian gastronomy”.

To conclude, Wine off represented an important opportunity to put together technique and conviviality, promoting the eno-gastronomic culture and getting stronger the links between producers and business clients, mainly Parmesan restaurant owners. An event that left a very good memory.
